“I WANT TO SIGN UP BUT THE TIMES DON’T WORK OUT BECAUSE I LIVE IN EUROPE.” 

No problem, each session is recorded. 

Once you have an active membership, you will have access to a video folder with all of the past classes. This way, you can follow along as if you were in the class at your own leisure, at the time you decide. The only thing you miss is the opportunity to ask questions.

“DO I NEED TO KNOW SPEAR OR ANOTHER MARTIAL ART TO SIGN UP? "

No, you don’t need to have any foundation in the system. SPEAR is based on natural and instinctive movement, which makes it the easiest system to learn because it’s based on the body’s response to danger.

“HOW LONG WILL THE GARAGE GYM RUN?" 

This is ongoing training.

Think of it like a gym membership but it’s one-on-one with Coach Blauer and the curriculum is very specific to SPEAR and personal defense. 

Also, it’s a monthly membership. If one day you decide that the Garage Gym is no longer a good fit, or that you've attained your fitness and personal defense goals, just cancel the membership (just reach out to us anytime, humans still run our company and we're happy to help! 🙂)

“IS THIS CLASS APPROPRIATE FOR TEENAGERS AS WELL? CAN WE ZOOM AS A FAMILY?" 

If you have enough room to do the exercises, then your teenage kids can follow along.

Keep in mind that anyone who is a member of the private garage gym community will have access to the video recording. So if you miss a session or if they miss a session, you can just show them the recording and they can do the training later.

ADULT CONTENT WARNING: Coach Blauer can sometimes get colorful, and he enjoys swearing when appropriate, so parents use your discretion.

“WHAT WILL YOU BE COVERING? I.E. WILL THIS BE LIKE A CROSSFIT WORKOUT OR COVERING MATERIAL FROM SPEAR?" 

This is pure SPEAR. Pure self-defense specific training, decades of Coach Blauer’s self-defense protocols.

“WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?" 

Wear loose, comfortable clothing for the sessions. 

The equipment you will need is: 
- 5-foot long PVC pipe
- 10 lbs medicine ball
- Light and medium resistance bands

“ARE THE CLASSES SEQUENTIAL, MEANING I HAVE TO START AT THE FIRST PRE-RECORDED VIDEO AND “CATCH UP” TO THE CURRENT VIDEOS?" 

Yes and No.

Each class is standalone but the system is made up of a series of carefully analyzed movements that Coach Blauer created by studying how humans flinch and move when they’re attacked. 

So it’s really recommended that you start at the beginning and cycle through the content. It’ll help as Coach Blauer also explains a lot of the system in the first month of lessons.

Now could you jump in anywhere? Sure! But that’s like starting a movie 30 minutes in, you’ll figure it out but you’re also distracted because you’re not 100% sure about the plot.
